Police Report Motorcycle Crash by Wiley Middle School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

WINSTON-SALEM, NC- Wfmynews2.com writes that an early-morning crash involving a motorcyclist occurred close to Wiley Middle School. The collision happened at the intersection of Northwest Boulevard and North Hawthorne Road and led to part of the roadway being blocked. The incident slowed down school bus traffic in the area causing delays in students’ arrival times.*

Another issue surrounding intersections is that they tend to be quite heavily traveled parts of the road. There might be more potholes or other rough spots in the pavement. For a car, a pothole might be an inconvenience and rough on the tires, but for a motorcycle, these parts of the road can cause severe crashes. Motorcycles are harder to balance and require skill to operate. A flawed roadway can mean grave dangers for a motorcyclist.  

It is vital that bikers attempt to make themselves as visible as possible to others on the road. Reflective clothing is one way to accomplish this, and after dark, it is essential to always have a headlight on. Of course, motorcyclists should always wear a helmet.
