Three Fatal Pedestrian Accidents Occur on Same Night in Wake County, North Carolina
WAKE COUNTY, NC. – According to an online news report posted at abc11.com, three fatal pedestrian accidents occurred on the same night in Wake County, North Carolina. Police officers are still investigating the accidents, and it is not clear if charges will be filed in connection with any of the fatalities.*
The first of the accidents happened on Highway 55 in Holly Springs, North Carolina. The news report indicates that a teenager was trying to walk across the highway and was struck by a vehicle. ABC 11 reports that the teen was a fourteen-year-old girl, and she tragically died due to the crash. She has not been identified, nor has the driver involved in the accident.
Shortly before 8 p.m. on the same day, a second pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Six Forks Road and E. Millbrook Road in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Raleigh Police Department reports that a man was walking in the area and was hit by a passing vehicle. ABC 11 states that the man tragically died of his injuries. This accident is still under investigation, and no one involved was identified in the report.
A little after 8 p.m. on the same day, another man was struck by a vehicle in Wake County. This accident happened on Timber Drive in Garner, North Carolina, close to the crossing with Highway 70. ABC 11 reports that the man who was hit in this accident also tragically died from his injuries. No information identifying the victim or the driver was reported.
The Garner Police Department posted a message about this collision on social media, saying “Garner Police are investigating a traffic crash involving a pedestrian on Timber Drive just north of Hwy 70. The unidentified pedestrian male was transported to Wake Med in critical condition. Expect delays through the area.”
