Deadly Traffic Accident Reported on Tryon St. in Charlotte, North Carolina

CHARLOTTE, NC. – According to an online news story published by wcnc.com, a deadly traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a car was reported as occurring on South Tryon Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Limited information regarding the accident has been released by investigators at this time, and police are still trying to ascertain what took place.*

The crash happened in the late evening at the crossing of South Tryon Street with Westinghouse Boulevard. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and WCNC report that around 9:30 p.m., a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle somehow crashed into each other. The vehicle was described as a car, but no information about the make or model was listed in the report. The make and model of the motorcycle were also not provided. 

It is not clear at this time what events led to the accident. WCNC reports that the driver of the car said he was on his way to work at the time. Officers did not say whether one of the parties was at fault in connection with the crash and did not release information about the factors that might have been involved in the accident. 

WCNC reports that one person was tragically killed in the accident. The report did not identify this person and did not say whether he or she was riding on the motorcycle or in the car. 

WCNC further reports that the driver of the car was injured in the accident, though it is unclear if he was taken to a hospital for treatment. He was also not identified. His injuries were said to be to one of his hands. 

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is still in the process of investigating the crash, and at the time of the WCNC report’s publishing online, officers had not released additional information.
