Driver Tragically Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident in Catawba County, North Carolina

October 15, 2019

CHARLOTTE, NC – According to an online news report at wbtv.com, a man is facing charges for causing a deadly crash in Catawba County.*

The accident occurred in the early morning hours on North Carolina Highway 150 close to Sherills Road in Catawba County.

According to local troopers, a pickup truck was headed eastbound in a 2010 Dodge on North Carolina Highway 150 when it went across the center line and slammed into a 1993 Ford pickup truck.  The driver of the Ford, a 44-year-old woman, tragically died at the scene of the crash.  It is not clear what caused the woman to veer over to the opposite lane of traffic.  It appears that the woman was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.  The driver of the Dodge, a man, aged 39, is facing charges of misdemeanor death by a vehicle.  He did not sustain any injuries in the crash.

It does not appear that speeding or drug/alcohol impairment were factors in the crash.  There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
