Pedestrian Tragically Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident in Wayne County, North Carolina

GOLDSBORO, NC – According to an online news report at cbs17.com, a pedestrian sustained fatal injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver over the weekend.  The accident occurred in Wayne County, North Carolina.*

The incident was reported to authorities in the morning hours close to United States Highway 70 near Westwood Drive, per the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.  The victim, a man in his thirties, tragically died in the accident. It is not clear what caused the crash. The victim has not been identified in this report.  

The only information that troopers currently have regarding the suspect vehicle is that it is burgundy in color and is missing a mirror on the driver’s side of the vehicle.  The vehicle is reported as having sustained heavy damage to its front end.

There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
