Motorcyclist Die in Tragic, Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident on Interstate 20 in Lexington County, South Carolina
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC – According to an online news report at wach.com, the South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently searching for the automobile that was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a motorcyclist. The accident occurred on Interstate 40 west.*
The accident happened in the late morning hours where a man, aged 44, was struck by a vehicle while traveling west at mile marker 63, per the local police. Per authorities, the unknown vehicle fled the scene of the accident after hitting the 44-year-old, who had just parked and laid his motorcycle down. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and perished at the scene, per officials.
This accident is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s MAIT Team (Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team).
