Public service has always been very important to Montlick and Associates. Mr. David R. Montlick, the firm's founder and Chief Executive Officer, described in 2002 why such service is a constant theme in the firm's practice:

In November, 2009 Montlick & Associates began its new Family Safety & Legal Tips Campaign. As part of its goal to prevent injuries, Montlick & Associates' Family Safety Advocate Jacquie Palisi is appearing in two-minute segments on the ABC noon news, where she will be covering a wide range of topics to help keep your entire family safe. These segments are broadcast on WSB-TV in Atlanta. Additionally, downloadable materials are available on the Montlick.com website along with videos of these presentations, and people can sign up to receive Free Safety Alerts and Legal Tips/Updates.
Montlick & Associates has a long history of community service, a major focus of which has been the prevention of injuries to children. The cornerstone of these efforts has been the firm's extensive safety education program, Help Keep Kids Safe®, which was developed in 1987 in order to address the number one threat to children's health: preventable injuries. Since that time, important safety information has been conveyed to millions of people through a wide range of activities. The firm has aired 10,000 safety tip messages on 25 television stations, reaching viewers in 4 states. Additionally, the firm created and sponsored major events like Help Keep Kids Safe® Day at Zoo Atlanta, Bicycle Safety Awareness Day (for elementary schools) and Help Keep Kids Safe® Day at American Adventures. Over 100,000 people have participated in these special events. The firm has also participated as a corporate sponsor of many charitable and safety-related events.
In 2002, HelpKeepKidsSafe.org was created in order to provide a helpful, comprehensive and entertaining safety resource on the Internet. Using animation and fun colors, HelpKeepKidsSafe.org provides parents, teachers and kids with helpful child safety tips and statistics, as well as links to some of the best child safety sites and information on the Web on virtually every topic imaginable. Also featured are educational games and contests, a chance to win prizes like bicycles and helmets, and an opportunity to receive college scholarships based upon making a wonderful contribution to the community.
Montlick & Associate has received recognition for its commitment to child safety from both the Governor of Georgia and the White House.
Montlick & Associates recently created its seventh "Please Don't Drink & Drive" television campaign. These messages have been extensively televised during those times of the year when drunk driving accidents occur most frequently. To view our most recent message, click here.

Montlick & Associates has made an extensive commitment to support the research efforts at the Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Center. This particular support is profoundly meaningful because the Emory University School of Medicine is involved in important research that will ultimately benefit both our clients and society in general.
The Emory Orthopaedic and Spine Center is one of the largest university-based programs of its kind in the world. In recognition of the particular support we are providing, we have received two significant honors in the new facility.

Texting while driving has been shown to increase the risk of crashing or narrowly avoiding a crash by 23 times. Montlick & Associates created and has been airing two public service messages on television throughout Georgia, in an effort to help reduce the number of injuries caused by people texting while driving. Montlick & Associates extensively airs special Tribute to Troops television messages, including messages featuring Georgia Servicemen and women. The firm has also sponsored a “Most Deserving Military Family” contest to send a family for an expense-paid vacation to Disney World. Additionally, the firm has sponsored various organizations that support our military, including by way of example the Association of the United States Army, and the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center. Our CEO and founder, Mr. David Montlick, and his family are recognized as Major Benefactors of the Mayo Clinic. The Mayo Clinic thanked the Montlicks by naming a piece of artwork in their honor, located on the second floor of the Cannady Building. Next to the artwork (“Orchids Silver and Gold” by John Bunker) is a plaque recognizing the Montlick family and their generosity. While Montlick & Associates has always helped protect the rights of accident victims, we would much rather prevent those injuries from ever happening.
With the goal of "injury prevention," in addition to our Help Keep Kids Safe campaign, for over 39 years Montlick & Associates has aired television messages designed to promote safe driving practices. More recently, since November 2006, Montlick & Associates has delivered important accident prevention messages to thousands of Georgia families through an exclusive “Drive To Survive” partnership with CBS-TV in Atlanta. Topics have included everyday driver safety tips, as well as how to handle extreme weather conditions such as tornadoes and ice storms.
While Montlick & Associates has undertaken its own extensive public service programs, the firm also supports others as well. Here are a few additional examples:
For several years, Montlick & Associates has helped brain injury victims and their families receive a better quality of life by donating to the Brain Injury Association of Georgia. The firm has also co-sponsored many Continuing Legal Education seminars with the Brain Injury Association in Georgia.
The firm participates annually as a Corporate Sponsor of the Kids Chance Fun Run. Kids Chance is a non-profit organization designed by the Workers’ Compensation Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Kids Chance assists children of injured or deceased workers by providing financial scholarships.

The firm has been an annual or regular supporter of numerous health related charitable organizations, including the Mayo Clinic, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the American Heart Association, and the Make a Wish Foundation.
Montlick & Associates has also supported the “Shop with a Cop” program which helps with the purchase of school supplies for handicapped children.
Montlick & Associates has participated as a co-sponsor of the Georgia Head Injury Association and Renaissance Rehabilitation Services "Walk 'N Run." This event raised money to promote brain injury prevention, and was also sponsored by Kroger and WSB-TV Channel 2.
For several years the firm participated on an annual basis in the "Hands on Atlanta" program, where volunteers help approximately 200 community-based service agencies. They also assist public schools in addressing Atlanta's most critical needs.
The firm participated, along with the Mattel Toy Corporation, in a nationwide charity campaign called "Mattel Kids Care Too." The campaign was designed to teach children the art of giving by donating their old toys to underprivileged children. The firm served as a collection site, and donated the toys to the Atlanta Children's Shelter and Open Gate (an emergency shelter for abused children).
Montlick & Associates has co-sponsored three weeks of special educational episodes of the following television series on WVEU-TV 69 in Columbus: (1) "The Judge" (weekdays for Mothers Against Drunk Driving Week and Drug Awareness Week); and (2) "Highway to Heaven" (weekdays for Child Safety Week).
The firm has joined WXTX-TV FOX 54 in Columbus in presenting several special episodes of the television series "Valley's Most Wanted." These specials profiled missing children from the local area.
For a number of years, Mr. Montlick served on the Board of Directors of Children's Oncology Services of Georgia, d/b/a the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House is a non-profit organization that provides a home away from home for the parents of children who are undergoing cancer treatment.
