Worker Tragically Killed in Submarine Building Facility Accident in Rhode Island

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI - A news article posted on usnews.com states that a worker at the Rhode Island Electric Boat's facility was tragically killed in an accident on Tuesday.*  According to the report, the worker sustained life-threatening injuries in a workplace accident at the  Electric Boat's facility.

According to Sean Davies, the Vice president of Electric Boat, stated that the fatal workplace accident occurred at around 8 in the morning at its North Kingstown facility.  The Connecticut-based submarine manufacturer did not disclose the cause of the fatal accident or provide the name of the worker who was killed.  However, the company stated that the worker had been working as an inspector for around four years.  Mr. Davies also stated that everyone at the company was grieving over the tragedy.  All lift work at the Quonset Point facility was suspended to allow for a thorough investigation.
