Three Injured in Vehicle Wreck on Hwy 27 in Hamilton County, Tennessee

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN. – According to a news report posted online at, three people were injured in a vehicle wreck on Highway 27 in Hamilton County, Tennessee. Little information about the accident has currently been released, but authorities said that two vehicles were involved.* 

The accident happened in the late afternoon in the 17000 block of Highway 27, near the border between Hamilton County and Rhea County, Tennessee. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and WRCB report that emergency crews went to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. on a report of a traffic accident. Deputies arrived to discover that two vehicles had somehow crashed in this area. No information regarding the types of vehicles, including makes and models, was provided in the report. 

The nature of the crash was not described in the report, so it is not clear in what way the vehicles collided. The events leading to the accident were not reported, either, so the cause of the accident is not known. Authorities at the scene did not provide immediate information regarding the factors potentially involved in the wreck or whether one of the drivers committed a traffic violation. 

WRCB reports that three people sustained injuries in the accident. Paramedics were called to the scene and reportedly took all three people to a hospital for treatment. The seriousness of their injuries is not yet known. None of the injured persons was identified in the news report. 

It is unclear if additional people were injured but did not require medical transport to a hospital. The report did not clarify this information or state the total number of people who were in the two vehicles. 

The wreck is still under investigation by the county sheriff’s office, and deputies have not yet released further information. It is unclear if any charges will be pursued.
