Lyft Driver Struck by Car at Nashville International Airport
NASHVILLE, TN- Fox17.com writes that a Lyft driver was attempting to help a passenger when another driver struck him. The other driver was also working for a rideshare company. The victim had been operating a Lyft for about six months and says he typically enjoys the job. However, last week in the late morning, the man suffered a frightening and painful experience.*
The victim was parked at the airport and had just placed his passenger’s luggage in his vehicle when the car behind him crashed into him and pinned him between the two vehicles. The driver continued to push forward, causing the victim’s automobile to crash into the car in front of him.
The driver who struck the victim said that she accidentally slipped her foot off of the brake and onto the gas pedal. After the incident, a woman told the victim that she worked in the military as a medical personnel. The woman dragged him to the sidewalk and sat with him.
According to the airport, very few incidents happen in the area, which they say is well marked with signage and has ample lighting. While the rideshare lot has no crossing guards or traffic control officers, in this instance, such a person would not have been able to prevent the accident.
The victim says that despite his injuries, he plans to return to driving a Lyft. Once his swelling subsides, he is scheduled to see an orthopedic surgeon. He said he and his family are thankful for the woman who helped him and remained with him at the scene of the accident. The family would like to find out who the Good Samaritan was so as to be able to thank her personally.
