Man Tragically Dies in Interstate 24 Motorcycle Accident in Chattanooga, Tennessee

CHATTANOOGA, TN – According to an online news report at, a motorcycle crash occurred on Interstate 24 in Chattanooga, Tennessee over this past weekend.*

The accident involved a motorcycle and occurred in the evening hours at 18400 Interstate 24 east.  The Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Unit was dispatched to the scene of the accident.  

A person operating a Suzuki motorcycle was driving close to the 184th mile marker at an excessive rate of speed where the individual slammed into the rear-end of an International tractor-trailer. 

Upon impact, the motorcyclist was ejected from his bike and as a result, tragically died at the scene of the accident, as reported by the Hamilton County EMS.  The driver is identified as a 30-year-old man however, his name has not been released to the public pending notification to the victim’s family.

The operator of the tractor-trailer did not realize that his vehicle was hit and as such, did not stop.  This driver was eventually located and then stopped soon after the accident happened.

A third vehicle, a Nissan Rogue, was hit by wreckage from the accident. The driver of the Nissan, as well as a passenger were not injured in the accident.  The driver of the semi-truck was also uninjured in the crash.  The identification of the driver of the Nissan and their passenger has not been released to the public.
