Pedestrian Tragically Dies in Accident on August Road in Greenville, South Carolina
GREENVILLE, SC – According to an online news report at greenvilleonline.com, a pedestrian who was “standing in the roadway” on August Road in Greenville, South Carolina was hit and killed over the weekend, per the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the local coroner. This is the third pedestrian to die in traffic accidents in just about 24 hours.*
The incident happened on Augusta Road close to Garrison Road in the nighttime hours, per the South Carolina Highway Patrol. A Volkswagen sports utility vehicle was headed northbound on Augusta Road and struck a pedestrian who was “standing in the roadway,” per law enforcement. The pedestrian has not been identified at this time. The driver did not sustain any injuries, and charges are not expected to be filed against him or her.
A 38-year-old male from Gaffney, South Carolina was hit by a commercial vehicle and tragically died late last week. Another individual, a woman from Greenville, South Carolina was hit by a passenger vehicle in the early morning hours while walking on Wade Hampton Boulevard.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
