National Highway Safety Administration Issues Several Recall Notices on Vehicles

November 22, 2019

USA- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a recall on several vehicles, according to TRUCKPARTSANDSERVICE.com.

Vehicle recalls are common, and it is important to keep up do date on any notices that could affect your car.  Some defects are recalled to address serious and dangerous defects in a vehicle that could later cause injury to you. When a manufacturer issues a recall, the repairs will typically be made without any cost to the owner of the vehicle. It is vital that drivers ensure their vehicles are functioning properly to stay safe. If a defective vehicle is involved in a traffic accident, the manufacturer may be liable for injuries and damage caused by that vehicle, depending on the specific facts of the incident.  Four important newly issued vehicle recalls are listed below:

Daimler Trucks North America recalled certain models of 2020 trucks because the vehicles may have improperly installed steering shafts. The issue could cause a loss of control over the steering of the vehicle which could lead to a crash.

Thor Motor Coach recalled certain 2019-2020 models due to a problem with the unfastened seatbelt light. The lights may not illuminate properly when the ignition is moved to the on or start position. The issue could lead to some drivers failing to remember to buckle up which could lead to increased risk of injury in the event the vehicle is involved in an accident.

Volvo Trucks recalled some 2020 models over an issue with the steering gear mounting fasteners. Fasteners may not be sufficiently tightened. This issue could cause a loss of control over the steering of the vehicle and make a wreck more likely.

The Blue Bird Body Company recalled certain 2018 and 2019 school bus models. The recalled buses reportedly have a software error that could lead to the vehicle unexpectedly moving in some conditions. This defect could increase the risk of the bus being involved in a collision.
