Ford Issues Recall of 168,000 F-150 Trucks Due to Dangerous Braking Problems
USA - Ford is recalling 168,000 F-150 pickup trucks. 2019 and 2020 models are both subject to the recall. The popular pickup truck could have an improperly secured battery terminal, which could impact the ability to brake and also cause problems with the steering assist, panel display, and could lead to the engine stalling or even catching on fire.* There have been no reports yet of accident or injury as a result of the recall.
The company will be contacting owners in the upcoming weeks to notify them of the potential defects.
The vehicles will need to be brought to Ford dealers to have the battery cable joints inspected. Dealers may need to remove extra adhesive, which is believed to be causing the problem.
Vehicle manufacturers frequently issue recalls when problems are discovered. In some instances, these recalls are issued because of serious safety concerns. In many other cases, the recalls address somewhat minor issues that pose no serious threat to the consumer but still need to be repaired as a safety precaution.
When a vehicle is recalled, the manufacturer or dealer will typically repair the vehicle at no cost to the owner. It is important to stay up to date on recalls for your vehicle and to take advantage of the repairs for your safety and the safety of the passengers who may be riding with you.
