Lawyers For Good Matters Candle Fire Injury Lawsuits

January 04, 2023

According to an online news article published on wsiltv.com, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a recall announcement concerning the recall of Good Matters Candles.

The candles were recalled after the company received an adverse incident report concerning a candle fire and laceration injury to a customer. The recall affects all Good Matters Three-Wick Candles. The recalled candles were sold nationwide at retail stores, including Tuesday Morning and Homegood's.

The Good Matters Three-Wick Candles reportedly can burn at higher than normal temperatures, causing the glass jars to shatter, leading to an increased risk of home fires and laceration injuries, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. This recall only affects the 20-ounce glass tumblers sold in blue, black, yellow, white, and punk-blue colors. The affected Good Matters Three-Wick Candles were sold in the following fragrances: Citrus+Basil, Leather+Oud, Homecoming, Cypress+Fig, Snowfall, Peace, Wild Pine, Love, and Hope.

The numbers below are printed on the candle's SKU number located at the bottom label of the recalled candles:

  • GM-21WWWP21OZBX
  • GM- 21WWSF21OZBX
  • GM-21WWHC21OZBX
  • GM- 21MACF21OZBX
  • GM-21MACB21OZBX
  • GM- 21MALO21OZBX
  • GM-21LWHOPE21OZBX
  • GM- 21LWLOVE21OZBX, and
  • GM-21LWPEACE21OZBX.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission stated that they had received four adverse incident reports of the Good Matters Three-Wick Candles to  break apart and/or to catch on fire, resulting in property damage and one customer being injured. The Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging customers to immediately quit using the recalled Good Matters Three-Wick Candles and either return the candle for a refund or dispose of them.
