Florida's Hurricane Ian Insurance Claims Rise to 375,000 Claims
According to an online news report published on cltampa.com, there have been nearly 375,000 residential property insurance claims involving property in Florida.
This does not include boat or auto damage insurance claims. Data posted on the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation's website reports that the estimated insured losses of those claims are approximately $3.30 billion.
Tragically, the numbers of Hurricane Ian claims and estimated losses will continue to climb as businesses and residents assess the damage caused by the Category 4 hurricane. The insurance claim totals reported last Thursday jumped up about 40,000 claims and $2.8 billion. The data also showed that more than 7,750 Hurricane Ian claims were closed with payments made, and more than 11,000 claims were closed without payouts.
