Daily Harvest's French Leek & Lentil Crumble Liver and Gallbladder Damage Lawsuit Lawyers
Daily Harvest has issued a recall of its French Leek & Lentil Crumble food products due to customer reports of stomach, liver, and gallbladder illnesses. The company delivers vegan frozen food products that it asserts are good for the environment and its customers. Daily Harvest states that it is working with several experts "get to the bottom" of the issue. The experts include microbiologists, toxin and pathogen experts from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Spokespeople from Daily Harvest posted on social media that "All pathogen and toxicology results have come back negative so far, but we're continuing to do extensive testing and will keep you updated." The French Leek & Lentil Crumble food product has been recalled. Daily Harvest also asked customers who had bought the recalled food product to dispose of it in the trash.
The recall was initiated after customer incident reports on social media stating that they consumed French Leek & Lentil Crumble and became seriously ill. The range of dangerous symptoms includes extreme nausea, fever, cramping, body itching, and liver problems. Daily Harvest says it had been in contact with "customers who reported adverse reactions and are collecting data to further the investigation."
One Daily Harvest representative failed to respond to an inquiry concerning how much of the recalled product had been distributed. An FDA spokesperson email stated that the agency couldn't deny or confirm that an investigation has been initiated. Depending on the gravity of the situation, an FDA investigator may visit the complainant, initiate inspections, and collect product samples.
Daily Harvest had attracted celebrity influencers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Serena Williams, Bobby Flay, and Shaun White. The company's website says its mission is to make it easy for people to eat more vegetables + fruits every day. The company offers a variety of smoothies, frozen bowls, and flatbreads. "From seed to plate, we're committed to a better food system, one that prioritizes human and planetary health."
Customers voiced their frustration with how Daily Harvest handled the health issue. Commenters complained that Daily Harvest was not forthright about their product's health risks issues and bombarded its posts with insults. One user accused the company of trying to cover up the issue, and they "lost a customer in me for life!"
