Officers in Georgia Undergo Traffic Stop Safety Training

ATLANTA, GA- Wsbtv.com writes that police officers in Georgia are undergoing training to help them safely respond to car crashes. Traffic incidents are often deadly for police officers, and one of the main problems is that when an officer is working at a crash site, other drivers passing by may fail to pay attention or drive too close to the police vehicles and end up causing a crash.* 

Such incidents can end in tragedy for the responders. One officer explained how he was responding to a crash scene and was in the car, completing paperwork when another motorist lost control of their car and struck the rear of the vehicle. 

Police now undergo training aimed at ensuring that they are taking steps to minimize crash scene risks.
