Fatal Head-On Crash Reported on Reidsville Rd. in Forsyth County, North Carolina


September 23, 2019

FORSYTH COUNTY, NC. – According to a news story reported online at journalnow.com, a fatal head-on vehicle crash occurred on Reidsville Road in Forsyth County, North Carolina. Two people were tragically killed in the collision, and two others sustained serious injuries, according to the news report.* 

The accident happened during the evening at an unknown location on Reidsville Road. A cross street was not provided, nor was any landmark, so it is not clear where exactly the collision took place. North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Winston-Salem Journal report that at approximately 8:30 p.m., a Toyota pickup truck was traveling northbound on the roadway. The model of the truck was not reported. 

At some point, the Toyota crossed over the centerline and entered southbound traffic, where it crashed head-on into a southbound vehicle. The make and model of this vehicle were not listed in the report. Troopers did not immediately say what might have caused the Toyota driver to cross the centerline. No factors potentially involved in the accident were provided by authorities. 

The Winston-Salem Journal reports that three people were riding in the southbound vehicle, and two of them were tragically killed in the crash. They were identified as men from Kernersville, North Carolina. The news report further states that the third person riding in this vehicle was seriously injured and transported to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. 

In addition, the driver of the Toyota was transported to Baptist Hospital, according to the report. He was identified as a man from Kernersville, and his injuries were also said to be serious. 

North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident, and no additional information had been released at the time of the report. Troopers indicated that charges were pending the outcome of the case investigation.
