The 22-year-old stopped and attempted to render aid to the 32-year-old.  He called 911 to request medical attention for his roommate.  Witnesses also attempted to assist the injured victim however, their efforts were unsuccessful.  The 32-year-old perished as a result of the extent of his injuries.

The District Attorney’s Office for Onslow County as well as the Sheriff’s Office examined the incident and determined that the death of the 32-year-old was an accident.  As a result, the driver will not face charges.  There are no further details on the accident at this time.
