Vehicle Crash Tragically Kills Motorcyclist on U.S. 19 in Pasco County, Florida

PASCO COUNTY, FL. – According to a news report posted online at, a vehicle crash that happened on U.S. Highway 19 in Pasco County, Florida, tragically killed a motorcyclist. Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident, and it is unclear if charges will be filed in connection with the wreck.* 

The accident happened in the late morning at the crossing of Houston Avenue and U.S. 19 in Pasco County. Florida Highway Patrol and the Tampa Bay Reporter state that at about 10 a.m., a 2015 Buick LaCrosse was traveling northbound on U.S. 19 and entered the left turn lane at the intersection with Houston Avenue.

Thereafter, the driver of the Buick attempted to perform a U-turn, and crossed into the path of a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle that had been traveling on the highway. The two vehicles ended up crashing into each other. The news report does not say whether the attempted U-turn was a legal maneuver at this location, nor does it provide any information about the possible factors involved in the vehicle accident.

The Tampa Bay Reporter states that the person operating the motorcycle was ejected during the impact with the Buick, and emergency responders took him to Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point, where he tragically died from his injuries. He was identified as a 31-year-old man from Port Richey, Florida. The report says that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. 

The driver of the Buick was identified in the report as an 83-year-old man from Hudson, Florida. He was not injured in the collision, according to the Tampa Bay Reporter. 

Troopers are still investigating the crash, and they have reportedly said that charges are pending the outcome of their investigation. No additional information about the accident was provided in the news report.
