Three People Injured in Two-Car Collision on Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral, Florida

CAPE CORAL, FL. – According to an online news story reported at, three people were injured in a vehicle accident that occurred on Del Prado Boulevard in Cape Coral, Florida. The collision reportedly involved two vehicles, but little other information about the accident has been released so far.*

The crash happened sometime in the afternoon in the 1400 block of Del Prado Boulevard. The Cape Coral Police Department and NBC 2 report that authorities were called to the area about a traffic accident and arrived to discover that two cars had somehow crashed into each other. 

The makes and models of the two cars were not reported, though a photo taken at the scene and posted to the NBC 2 website shows that one of the vehicles was a silver SUV, resembling a Ford Edge. The SUV is shown with extensive damage to the entire passenger’s side of the vehicle and the front of the vehicle. The second vehicle is not pictured in the photo. 

It is not yet clear what caused the accident or what events transpired before the crash occurred. Police officers responding to the scene did not provide immediate information about the factors involved in the collision or whether one of the drivers might have been at fault. 

NBC 2 reports that three people sustained injuries in the accident. These people were not identified, and the report did not say which vehicle they had been riding in or whether they were passengers or drivers. The extent of their injuries was not known at the time of the report’s posting. The report indicated that a homicide investigator with the Cape Coral Police Department was at the scene, but authorities did not confirm any other injuries or any deaths. 

The northbound lanes of Del Prado Boulevard were closed down following the accident.
