Sixteen-Year-Old Boy Hit by Pickup Truck on Little Rd. in Pasco County, Florida

PASCO COUNTY, FL. – According to a news report posted online at, a sixteen-year-old boy was hit by a pickup truck on Little Road in Pasco County, Florida. The news report indicates that the teen was seriously injured in the accident, and authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision.*

The accident took place in the morning, close to Rye Street on Little Road in Pasco County. Florida Highway Patrol and the Tampa Bay Reporter state that at approximately 7 a.m., a teenager was attempting to cross the roadway in this area and was somehow struck by a pickup truck. The truck was described as a 2006 Ford F-150. It is not clear what direction the Ford had been traveling before the accident or in what direction the teen was crossing the road.

It is not yet clear what events led to the accident. Florida Highway Patrol Troopers responding to the scene did not provide full details about the circumstances surrounding the collision. The news story did not describe the traffic conditions on the roadway, so it is unclear whether the boy or the driver of the truck had the right-of-way at the time of the crash. 

The Tampa Bay Reporter indicates that the boy was injured in the collision and transported to Regional Medical Center at Bayonet Point for treatment. He was identified as being a 16-year-old student at Fivay High School. His injuries were said to be serious, but he was noted to be in stable condition. 

The Ford driver was not identified in the news report, and the report does not indicate whether anyone inside the pickup truck was injured. Florida Highway Patrol is handling the investigation, and no additional information about the collision was available at the time the Tampa Bay Reporter news story was published online.
