Pedestrian Fatally Perishes in Crash with Tractor-Trailer on United States Highway 27 Close to Mayo
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, FL – According to an online news report at wctv.tv, the Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation of a deadly accident that involved a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian on United States Highway 27 at Country Road, which is located in a southerly direction from Mayo.*
The Florida Highway Patrol indicates that a pedestrian was struck in the northerly lane of traffic and fell on to the eastern shoulder. Per troopers, the accident occurred in the early morning hours earlier this week. The individual was taken to an area hospital where they later perished. The identification of the individual, including their name, age and sex, has not been released to the public. It is not clear what led to the accident and who was at fault.
