Vehicle Accident Reported on Blountstown Hwy in Tallahassee, Florida

TALLAHASSEE, FL. – According to an online news article reported by, a vehicle accident occurred on Blountstown Highway in Tallahassee, Florida. Limited information about the accident has so far been released by officials working on the case, as the investigation is still in its early stages.*

The collision happened during the late afternoon at the crossing of Aenon Church Road with Blountstown Highway. Florida Highway Patrol and WTXL report that emergency crews were called to this area around 3:30 p.m. on a report of a serious traffic accident. It is not clear at this time how many vehicles were involved in the crash or what types of vehicles collided. No vehicle descriptions, including makes and models, were reported.

Responding authorities did not provide information immediately to the media regarding the circumstances of the crash or what events might have led to the accident. It is unclear how the accident occurred or whether one driver was at fault. The report does not say whether anyone was cited at the scene of the accident or whether any charges were expected based on the initial investigation.

WTXL reports that injuries were sustained in the accident, but the report does not say how many people were injured. The extent of injuries was not provided in the report, either. It is unclear if the injured person or persons required medical transport to a hospital for emergency care. The total number of people involved in the crash is not known, and none of the persons involved has been identified. 

The collision resulted in a closure of Blountstown Highway that appears to have involved both directions of traffic. It is not clear how long the roadway remained shuttered. Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident, and Troopers have not yet released additional details.
