Pizza Shop Owner Pulls Accident Victim from Car in Cape Coral, Florida

CAPE CORAL, FL. – According to an online news report posted at, a pizza shop owner pulled a traffic accident victim from her car in Cape Coral, Florida. The man witnessed the accident and jumped to action to help the woman, who is now recovering from her injuries.*

The accident happened in the afternoon at the crossing of Santa Barbara and Nicholas. KVOA reports that shortly after noon, a car was driving erratically in the area and ended up crashing into the back of another car at the intersection. The impact caused a gasoline spill, according to the report. 

A local man who was sitting in his car at the light witnessed the accident and immediately got out of his vehicle to help the woman in the car that was rear-ended. The force of the collision resulted in serious damage to the woman’s vehicle and injuries to the woman. The bystander, who owns a pizza shop in the area, said that the woman was in shock at the time. 

The man explained to reporters that more gasoline was starting to spill, so he knew the situation was becoming more dangerous. He ended up pulling the woman out of her car window to safety. The woman was not identified in the report, and it is not clear how seriously she was injured. The news report indicates that she posted a message on social media after the accident crediting the bystander with saving her.

The man told reporters that he didn’t think of himself as a hero. He said he did what he felt was right, helping out someone in his community, someone who could easily be one of his customers. 

No information was included in the report about the driver of the first vehicle or the cause of the crash.
