Two Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Crash on Dog Track Rd. in Escambia County, Florida

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report posted at, two motorcyclists were seriously injured in a traffic crash that occurred on Dog Track Road in Escambia County, Florida. The two motorcyclists were reportedly riding together and collided with a car.*

The crash happened in the afternoon at the crossing of Dog Track Road and Blue Angel Parkway. Florida Highway Patrol and WEAR report that around 1 p.m., a Nissan Altima was traveling south on Dog Track Road, while two motorcycles of unknown make and model were traveling north on the same roadway. The motorcycles were reportedly traveling beside each other on the northbound side of the road. 

At the intersection with Blue Angel Parkway, the Nissan driver attempted to turn left and pulled in front of the motorcycles. The fronts of both motorcycles then crashed into the passenger’s side of the Nissan. It is not clear at this time what caused the accident or why the driver of the Nissan turned into the path of the oncoming motorcycles.

WEAR reports that the two motorcyclists were injured in the accident, and emergency crews took them to Baptist Hospital for treatment. They were both identified as men, and their injuries were said to be serious. It does not appear that passengers were riding on the motorcycles at the time of the accident. 

WEAR further reports that the driver of the Nissan was injured in the accident and taken to Sacred Heart Hospital. He was identified as a 51-year-old man. It is unclear if any passengers were in his car.

Florida Highway Patrol reported that the Nissan driver was issued a citation for violation of the right-of-way. Troopers are still in the process of investigating the wreck, and they had not released additional information at the time the WEAR report was posted online.
