Head-On Crash on U.S. 17-92 in Seminole County, Florida, Tragically Kills Two

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report published at, a head-on crash on U.S. Highway 17-92 in Seminole County, Florida, tragically killed two people. The crash ultimately involved four vehicles. The news report indicates that two other people were injured in the crash, as well.*

The accident occurred in the early evening, close to General Hutchinson Parkway on U.S. 17-92. Florida Highway Patrol and the Orlando Sentinel report that around 5:30 p.m., a 1999 Honda was traveling south on the highway and crossed over into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons. The Honda then crashed into two northbound vehicles, including a Toyota and a 2010 Ford. 

The models of the vehicles were not reported, and the year of the Toyota was not reported. After the impact between the three vehicles, a fourth vehicle that was traveling north crashed into the back of the Toyota. No description of the fourth vehicle was included in the report. 

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the driver of the Toyota tragically died in the collision. He was identified as a 57-year-old man from Winter Haven, Florida. It doesn’t appear that any passengers were in the Toyota. 

The Orlando Sentinel further reports that the driver of the Honda also tragically died after being transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital. He was identified as a 30-year-old man from Winter Springs, Florida. It appears he was also the only person in his vehicle. 

The driver of the Ford, who was identified as a 36-year-old woman, and the driver of the fourth vehicle, who was identified as a 59-year-old woman from Sanford, Florida, were injured in the crash, according to the report, but it is not clear if they required medical transport. 

Investigation of the accident is ongoing, and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers have not yet released additional information.
