Tragic Crash Kills Man, Injures Brothers in Polk County, Florida
POLK COUNTY, FL- Clickorlando.com writes that a man from Daytona Beach died in a crash in Polk County, Florida, this week. The incident occurred in the early morning on US Highway 27 close to the Warner University.*
Twin 24-year-old brothers were traveling northbound in an Isuzu Trooper when the driver lost control over the car. The Trooper drifted onto a median, rolled over, and crashed into the southbound lanes of traffic. Then, the Isuzu collided with a Ford Escape that was traveling in the southbound lanes, causing the Ford to overturn and roll multiple times. The Escape finally came to a rest in the roadway on its roof, and the Isuzu landed on its side.
The victim, identified as a 77-year-old man, was in the Ford when the cars collided and tragically died at the scene of the wreck. One of the brothers was thrown from the Isuzu in the crash. Both twins suffered injuries, and responders transported them to a local hospital. Luckily, the two young men are both expected to recover from their injuries.
Police say that the twin driving the Trooper did not know what had caused him to lose control of the vehicle. As a result of the accident, authorities closed down the road for five hours while they worked to clear the scene. Accident reports indicate that the victim was driving to work when he died. No information is yet available regarding whether charges are to be filed in relation to the crash. Images from the scene of the collision show the Isuzu on its side in the grass next to the roadway, and the Ford some distance away on its roof. Due to the accident, debris was spread across the two southbound lanes and along the shoulder and median.
