December 18, 2019

POLK COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news story reported at, a motorcycle wreck was reported to have occurred on Bartow Highway in Polk County, Florida. The report states that at least one person was injured, but little information about the accident itself was included in the news story.*

The accident happened during the morning on Bartow Highway in front of the entrance to Lakeland High School in Polk County. The exact time of the accident was not stated in the report, so it is not clear if class was in session for the day at the high school when the crash happened.

The report indicates that the wreck involved two vehicles: a motorcycle and another vehicle. The make and model of the motorcycle were not reported, and the second vehicle was not described in any way.

It is not clear if a student was involved in the crash. WFLA states that one person was injured in the collision and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. This person was not identified, and his or her current medical condition was not released. No one else from the accident was identified, and it is unclear how many people were involved in total. No additional injuries were reported.

Emergency crews responding to the scene reportedly shut down the southbound side of Bartow Highway in order to perform investigation and clear the area. The closure spanned from the high school’s entrance to Lake Hollingsworth Road. The report did not say how long the roadway was blocked.
