Tragic Crash Kills Two, Including One-year-old in Belle Glade, Florida

December 15, 2019

BELLE GLADE, FL- Cbs12.com writes that a 26-year-old woman and a one-year-old child died in a crash earlier this week. The afternoon collision occurred on Hatton Highway at its intersection with State Road 80.*

The victims were in a 2008 Chevy Impala that collided with a dump truck. The smaller car caught fire in the crash. The authorities shut down State Road 80 in order to investigate and clear the scene. The two victims were reportedly from Pahokee.

The truck was reportedly turning onto Hatton Highway when the victim crashed into the back of the vehicle. The Impala spun out of control in the impact and then caught fire. The man driving the truck, identified as a 51-year-old man from Loxahatchee, survived the collision.

Officers are investigating to determine if alcohol played a role in the tragic wreck. The Reports indicate that charges are pending.

Video from the crash site shows the car engulfed in flames and the victims’ vehicle horribly mangled.
