MARTIN COUNTY, FL. – According to a news report posted online at cbs12.com, a one-year-old child was among the victims of a fatal boating crash that happened in Martin County, Florida. Two people, including the child, were tragically killed in the accident, according to the report, and deputies and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are investigating.*

The accident happened during a weekend evening at Port Salerno in Martin County. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Fish and Wildlife, and CBS 12 report that at approximately 8 p.m., a boat crash was reported by Sandsprit Park. The type of boat involved was not described, and it is not clear if more than one boat was involved.

CBS 12 reports that two people on the boat were seriously injured and taken to a local hospital, where they both tragically died. One of the victims was identified as a 29-year-old woman, and the other was identified as a one-year-old boy. It is not clear if the two lived in the area or were visiting from another area.
