Six-Vehicle Crash on Biscayne Blvd. in North Miami Beach, Florida, Injures Nine People

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL. – According to a news article posted online at, a six-vehicle crash that happened on Biscayne Boulevard in North Miami Beach, Florida, caused injuries to nine people. Police are still looking into the circumstances of the accident and have not released detailed information at this time.*

The collision occurred during the afternoon, by the intersection of Biscayne Boulevard and Northeast 163rd Street. The North Miami Beach Police Department and WSVN report that around 2:30 p.m., a Jaguar SUV was trying to turn into the shopping center in this area, and a Mercedes Benz C-Class coupe crashed into the Jaguar. It is not clear what direction each of the vehicles had been traveling before the crash.

Based on witness information, it appears that following the impact, the Mercedes became airborne, and additional collisions involving four other vehicles ensued. The makes and models of these vehicles were not reported, nor was any information about how they became involved in the accident. The cause of the initial crash is not yet known. Witnesses indicated to reporters that the Mercedes driver had been traveling at a high rate of speed.

It is not clear how many people were involved in the accident in total. WSVN reports that nine people were injured and taken to hospitals for emergency treatment. Two of these people, according to WSVN, were taken to Aventura Hospital under trauma alert status. Current medical conditions have not been reported. 

The only injured person who was identified in the report was the driver of the Jaguar. He was identified as a 46-year-old man and was said to have sustained critical injuries. The Mercedes driver was not identified. 

Police officers are still investigating the accident, and they have not yet indicated whether charges will be filed.
