Motorcyclist Tragically Dies in Three-Vehicle Accident in Freeport, Florida

WALTON COUNTY, FL – According to an online news report at, a motorcyclist tragically died in an accident involving a total of three vehicles.*

The accident occurred close to the intersection of United States Business 331 and Highway 331 southbound in Freeport, Florida.  The accident happened in the nighttime hours.  

According to a Walton County deputy who was on the scene of the accident, the motorcyclist had been stopped at Business 331 and then turned into the path of a white van that was heading south on Highway 331.  The motorcyclist, due to the impact of the crash, was thrown from the bike, which caused them to land in the road and be struck by a pickup truck.  The motorcyclist tragically died as a result of the severity of their injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck intended to go fishing whereas the family in the white van, from Georgia, was headed to Rosemary Beach for vacation. Local authorities are currently conducting an investigation of the accident.  The southbound lanes of Highway 331 were closed to traffic while emergency personnel and law enforcement worked the scene. 

The Walton County Fire Rescue, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Florida Highway Patrol are jointly investigating the accident.

There are no further details that have been reported on the accident at this time. It is not clear whether the individuals in the white van or pickup truck sustained any injuries.  Their current status remains unknown.  The accident remains under investigation by the local police.
