The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that a man was struck and killed in an early morning accident on the Palmetto Expressway near northwest 74thStreet in Medley. A Toyota sedan was traveling in the far-right lane of northbound Palmetto Expressway when the vehicle struck and killed the pedestrian.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident with local authorities. The reason why the man was walking on the Palmetto Expressway is unclear at this time. Reports do not indicate the driver of the Toyota is facing any criminal charges.
