Rear-End Trucking Accident in Athens Results in Death of Two Boys

June 24, 2011

There is no question that rear-end collisions are a common occurrence, but when they involve a tractor-trailer, the consequences can be deadly.

Recently a tractor-trailer driven by a 57-year-old man from North Carolina rear-ended a vehicle carrying a woman and three young children near Athens, GA. The children in the back seat, who were 10 years old, both died as a result of the collision.

The woman, who was mother to one of the boys, was slowing down for a car that was pulling off the road in front of her when she was hit from behind by the truck. The accident is under investigation at this time. The woman and the boys were on their way to a lake at a park on that Friday afternoon.

If the driver of the truck is deemed to be at fault for the accident, the woman and mother of the other boy will have a claim against the truck driver and the trucking company for wrongful death. It would be advisable for the families of the victims to seek out the services of an experienced Georgia trucking accident law firm that can investigate the cause of the accident and identify all available insurance.
