Tragic, Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on U.S. 19 in Taylor County, Florida

TAYLOR COUNTY, FLORIDA - A news story published on reports that a 16-year-old Tallahassee boy was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident on U.S. 19 at Ben Eakins Lane in Taylor County, Florida.*

The accident occurred last Friday night. According to an incident report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the 16-year-old accident victim was a passenger in a van that was heading northbound along U.S. 19.

The accident news report states that a motorhome was parked along the east shoulder of U.S. 19. the motorhome had its hazard lights flashing and was parked because of a mechanical issue. The report also states that the motorhome was partially in the roadway prior to the crash. The van driver, a 29-year-old Tallahassee man, rear-ended the motorhome.

According to the accident report, the teen passenger riding in the van was tragically pronounced deceased at the accident scene. The driver of the van was taken to Tallahassee Memorial with accident-related injuries.

The accident report also stated that the motorhome occupants, a woman, and a man from Chapin, South Carolina, were not injured in the collision. The fatal accident is currently under investigation. The Florida Highway Patrol does not release the names of accident victims in accordance with Marcy's law.
