According to an Ohio Highway Patrol media release, the 70-year-old was heading eastbound along with Harrison on a Harley Davidson Road King motorcycle when the driver of a Ram 1500 pickup truck that was heading northbound on South Kansas failed to yield the motorcyclist at the intersection.
The news report states that the truck driver, a 78-year-old from Orrville, pulled into the path of the motorcyclist, and the motorcyclist hit the truck on the driver's side with both motor vehicles before stopping in the intersection.
A 70- year-old woman who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle was transported by helicopter to Summa Akron City Hospital. She sustains serious injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The motorcyclist and his passenger were wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle accident, which happened at about 3:30 PM, remains under investigation, and the media release said that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
