Tragic, Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Old Moulton Rd. in Morgan County, Alabama

MORGAN COUNTY, AL. – According to a news article posted online at, an accident that took place on Old Moulton Road in Morgan County, Alabama, resulted in the tragic death of a pedestrian. The events of the accident are still under investigation by State Troopers, and limited information has so far been reported to the public.*

The accident happened in the evening, about five miles outside of Decatur, Alabama. Alabama State Troopers and report that around 8 p.m., a pedestrian was walking in the area and was hit by a passenger car. The car was reported to be a 1995 Honda. The model of the Honda was not listed in the report. It is unclear what direction the Honda had been traveling before the collision took place. 

Authorities investigating the accident did not say where the pedestrian had been walking at the time. It is not clear if he was inside of a travel lane on Old Moulton Road or if he was walking along the side of the roadway. It is also not clear what factors might have led to the collision. Troopers did not indicate whether they suspected the driver or the pedestrian was at fault in the accident. reports that the pedestrian was critically injured in the crash and tragically died at the scene. The news article identified the victim as a 48-year-old man from Decatur. 

The driver of the Honda was not identified in the news story. The report indicates that he or she remained at the scene following the incident and was not injured in the accident. It is not clear if the driver was cited or if any citations or charges are expected.

Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash. No further information was included in the report posted at
