Four Individuals Perished in Unrelated Jefferson County, Alabama Crashes
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL – According to an online news report at al.com, four people perished over the past two months in vehicular crashes.*
Two of the victims tragically died in Jefferson County over the weekend in two unrelated accidents. Two additional individuals died after being seriously injured back in July and August. According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the victims are identified as a woman, aged 38, a man, aged 69, a man aged 39, and another man aged 54.
One of the victims perished when driving in the 5400 block of Crestwood Boulevard. Per law enforcement, the individual was going westbound in a Honda when she lost control of her vehicle for reasons that are not known. During the accident, the woman’s car overturned and struck a ravine. The accident occurred in the morning hours. The victim was transported to a local hospital following the crash, where she was pronounced deceased later in the morning.
A male victim died over the weekend at a local hospital after being involved in an accident that occurred back in July. The accident occurred on Fourth Avenue South and Parkway East. The man was riding on a bicycle in the early evening when he ran a red light and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. The man was hospitalized until he perished over the weekend.
Another male victim was a pedestrian in Bessemer when he was hit by a vehicle in late August. The police note that the man was walking on Interstate 59/20 in the early morning hours when he was struck close to Exit 113 of the roadway. He passed away over the weekend.
The last victim died over the weekend following a single-vehicle accident on Spaulding-Ishkooda Road in Birmingham, Alabama. The accident occurred in the mid-afternoon hours. The man’s vehicle flipped over, causing him to be trapped inside. Once he was removed from the vehicle, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There are no further details on the accidents at this time. The accidents remain under investigation by the local police.
