Man Tragically Killed in Accident Between Motorcycle, SUV in Baldwin County, Alabama

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL. – According to a news report published online at, a man was tragically killed in a vehicle accident between a motorcycle and an SUV in Baldwin County, Alabama. It is not yet clear what caused the accident, and State Troopers are investigating.*

The accident occurred during the evening on the Baldwin Beach Express, close to Interstate 10. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Gulf Coast News Today report that shortly after 8 p.m., a Kawasaki motorcycle was headed north on the Baldwin Beach Express, while a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling south. Both were approaching the crossing with Oakdale Drive. 

At the Oakdale Drive intersection, it appears one of the vehicles ended up crossing over the centerline of the Baldwin Beach Express, and the two collided head-on. It is not clear which vehicle entered the other’s path, and authorities have not yet identified any potential reasons why the accident happened. The collision was between County Road 64 and County Road 68, according to the news report. 

Gulf Coast News Today reports that the person riding on the motorcycle was tragically killed in the crash. Officials identified him as a 33-year-old man from Elberta, Alabama. It does not appear that any passengers were on the motorcycle with the victim. 

The report from Gulf Coast News Today identified the driver of the Hyundai as a 49-year-old man from Robertsdale, Alabama. It is not clear if this driver was injured in the accident. The report did not state how many people were in the Hyundai. 

Alabama State Troopers are still investigating the accident and had not released additional information about their investigation at the time the Gulf Coast News Today report was posted. It is unclear if charges are expected in connection with the fatal crash.
