Child Seriously Injured When Hit by Car on MLK Dr. in Atlanta, Georgia

ATLANTA, GA. – According to an online news story reported at, a child was seriously injured when she was hit by a car on Martin Luther King Drive in Atlanta, Georgia. Police are still trying to determine what events led to the accident, and no information about the possibility of charges has been released at this time.*

The collision happened in the evening in the 2900 block of Martin Luther King Drive. The Atlanta Police Department and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution report that at approximately 8:30 p.m., a child was walking across the roadway, and a vehicle traveling on the road ran into her. It is not clear what direction the vehicle was headed at the time, and the make and model of the vehicle were not listed in the report. 

The news report does not say what direction the child was walking or whether the child was alone at the time. It is not clear where the child was headed when the accident occurred. Police say they have not yet determined what happened or what caused the accident. 

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the child sustained serious injuries in the collision and was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital by emergency responders. She was identified as being ten years old. She was said to be in critical condition upon transport to the hospital, but a current medical condition for her was not provided. 

No information about the driver of the vehicle was included in the news report. The report does not say if the driver sustained any injuries. It is still unclear if any charges will be filed in connection with the accident. The Atlanta Police Department is still investigating the collision, and no further information had been reported at the time the news story was published online.
