Serious Injuries Reported Following Crash Between SUV, Motorcycle in Floyd County, Georgia

FLOYD COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news report posted at, serious injuries to one person were reported following a crash between an SUV and a motorcycle that occurred in Floyd County, Georgia. Investigators have not yet identified the people involved in the accident, and they are still reviewing the case.*

The collision took place at the crossing of Kingston Highway with the loop. The Floyd County Police Department and the Marietta Daily Journal report that a Jeep Sahara and a Can Am Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle were somehow involved in a crash at the intersection. Police officers indicated that the Jeep struck the motorcycle, but they did not say how the accident occurred. 

Limited information about the events of the crash has been released so far. It is not clear what direction each of the vehicles was traveling or what circumstances led to the accident. Officers did not say whether they were looking into any specific factors as potentially playing a role in the crash. 

The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the person operating the motorcycle was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment by way of a medical helicopter. The person was identified as a woman, but no other identifying information about her was included in the report. Her injuries were described as severe.

The driver of the Jeep was identified as a woman from Floyd County. Her age was not reported. The report did not say whether she was injured in the accident or whether anyone was riding in the Jeep with her at the time of the collision. 

Floyd County police officers are still investigating the accident, and no further information had been released at the time the news report was posted to the Marietta Daily Journal’s website.
