Fatal Hit-and-Run Collision Occurs on Ga. 400 in Atlanta, Georgia

ATLANTA, GA. – According to an online news report posted at, a fatal hit-and-run collision occurred on Georgia Highway 400 in Atlanta, Georgia. The report indicates that a pedestrian was tragically killed in the accident, and police officers are asking for information from the public to solve the case.*

The collision took place in the early morning, close to Lenox Road on Ga. 400. The Atlanta Police Department and Fox 5 report that a pedestrian was walking in the area and was somehow struck by a passing vehicle. Witnesses reportedly told officers that the pedestrian was walking north on the highway, though the report does not say if she was walking on the side of the highway or in a lane of travel. 

It is not clear what direction the vehicle was headed prior to the crash, and the report did not provide a description of the vehicle. Officers stated that by the time they arrived at the scene, the vehicle was gone. It is unclear if any evidence linking the suspect vehicle to the scene was left behind. The report did not provide any information about what might have led to the collision or what factors might have been involved. 

Fox 5 reports that the pedestrian tragically died from her injuries. She was identified in the report only as a woman. No other identifying information about the victim was released. 

Police have not provided a description of a suspect or any information about the vehicle involved in the accident. As of the time the Fox 5 report was posted online, no arrests had been made in the case. The accident is still under investigation. Officers are reportedly asking for anyone with information about the collision to contact the Atlanta Police Department as soon as possible.
