MOULTRIE, GA. – According to an online news report posted at moultrieobserver.com, a community has come together to support a child who was hit by a car in Moultrie, Georgia. His friends ran a lemonade stand, businesses have been selling ribbons and other merchandise, and family members have started an online donation page to raise money for the boy’s recovery.*

The accident happened on an unnamed roadway in Moultrie. Georgia State Patrol and The Moultrie Observer report that a boy was riding his bicycle and traveled into the path of an oncoming Chevrolet Tahoe. It is not clear how the accident took place, but Troopers have reportedly said that charges will not be filed against the Chevy driver, who was not identified in the news story.

After the accident, the boy was transported to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare with serious injuries. The report says he remains hospitalized. He was six years old at the time of the accident and turned seven while in the hospital. While he’s been there, his community has been rallying to show support and help in his recovery process.
