A Ford Escape that Sustained Damage is Being Sought for Involvement in Hit-and-Run Accident
BARROW COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at onlineathens.com, the Barrow County sheriff deputies are seeking the driver of a red Ford Escape that was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Georgia Highway 316.*
The accident happened in the early morning hours west of Barber Creek Road close to Stratham, Georgia, per the local sheriff’s office.
Deputies were able to ascertain that a Jeep Cherokee was rear-ended by a Ford Escape, causing the Jeep to exit the highway and slam into a tree.
Both automobiles were going westbound toward Athens. A motorist that was passing by saw the vehicle that was crashed in the line of the trees since its headlights were on. The motorist stopped and witnessed the scene of the accident, which was full of smoke and debris. “As he was walking down to check on the driver, the driver of the car was crawling away severely injured. He’s lucky to be alive. This is a very bad wreck,” the Barrow County sheriff noted.
Per the sheriff, it was not initially the type of Ford vehicle that was involved in the crash. Through accident reconstruction efforts, the debris from the wreckage were fathered and taken to a local Ford dealership where an employee indicated that the suspect vehicle is a red Ford Escape that was manufactured in 1999 to 2004. This vehicle is believed to have a missing grill and passenger headlight.
