Fatal Pedestrian Collision Reported on Lillington Hwy in Spring Lake, North Carolina

SPRING LAKE, NC. – According to an online news report posted at, a fatal pedestrian accident took place on Lillington Highway in Spring Lake, North Carolina. Extremely limited information about the incident was included in the report, and authorities are still in the preliminary stages of the investigation. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, and it is not clear if any will be pursued.*

The accident occurred in the late evening, near the area of Bragg Boulevard and Lillington Highway. At approximately 10 p.m., according to information from ABC 11, a pedestrian was involved in some kind of traffic collision. The report did not say where the pedestrian was at the time in relation to the roadway, and it did not say how many vehicles were involved. 

It is unclear if the pedestrian became involved due to a crash between several vehicles or if the pedestrian was struck by a single vehicle. No vehicle descriptions were included in the report, nor was any information regarding the events leading up to the accident. Authorities responding to the accident scene did not release information right away about the cause or nature of the incident. 

ABC 11 reports that the pedestrian tragically died due to the collision. No identifying information on this person was immediately released by authorities. The news report does not say how many other people were involved in the accident or whether anyone else was injured. No one involved in the collision was identified. 

Authorities are still in the process of investigating the accident, and at the time that the news report was posted to the ABC 11 website, officers had not released further information regarding the incident. It is unclear if any charges are expected to be filed in the case.
