Vehicle Crash Reported on Ocean Ave. in Lantana, Florida

LANTANA, FL. – According to a news report published online at, a vehicle crash occurred on Ocean Avenue in Lantana, Florida. It appears that at least two vehicles were involved, and they traveled into the front yard of a residence off the roadway following the impact. Few details about the accident have been released at this time.*

The accident happened early in the morning in the area of Ocean Avenue and Broadway. This is about a block away from Lantana Elementary School. The Lantana Police Department and WPTV report that shortly before 7 a.m., a vehicle crash occurred at this area. Based on information gathered from a news helicopter, it appeared that a car and a pickup truck somehow collided and ended up coming to a stop in a residential yard. 

The makes and models of the two vehicles were not provided in the report. Photos taken at the scene and posted to show that the truck was light colored, and the car was a black sedan. Both appear to be badly damaged, and the car appears to have potentially collided with a parked van near the home after the initial collision. The car is pictured wedged against the van. 

It is not clear at this time what caused the accident or how it happened. Authorities responding to the scene did not immediately share information on the events surrounding the accident or whether one of the drivers might have been at fault. WPTV reports that at least one person was injured in the wreck, as a medical helicopter came to the scene. 

It is unclear how many people in total were involved in the crash or how many people were injured. The extent of any injuries was also not reported, and none of the people involved was identified.
