Motorcyclist Tragically Dies in Dalton, Georgia Crash
The Georgia Department of Transportation indicated that lanes were closed on State Route 52 (East Walnut Avenue) in Dalton, Georgia as a result of a fatal motorcycle accident The Dalton Police Department has confirmed that the roadway reopened in the mid-afternoon hours. The accident occurred at VD Parrott Jr. Parkway and East Walnut Avenue.*
A GMC pickup truck that was operated by an elderly male individual was going northbound on VD Parrot and attempted to turn west onto Walnut Avenue. A Kia was going east on Walnut Avenue. The two automobiles crashed into one another, sending the Kia into a motorcycle that was headed westbound on Walnut Avenue.
The identity of the motorcyclist has not been made public at this time.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police. It is not clear whether anyone else sustained injuries in the accident.
