Kevin Hart Seriously Injured in Malibu Hills Crash, 911 Call Describes Scary Scene

September 10, 2019

CALABASAS, CA – According to an online news report at today.com, Kevin Hart was seriously injured in a car accident in the Malibu Hills, California.*

According to a 911 audio released earlier this week, it describes the accident that involved Kevin Hart, who sustained “major back injuries” in the crash.  On the audio provided by the Los Angeles County Fire Department, a female who is believed to have been calling from Hart’s residence can be heard indicating to the dispatcher that “I need someone to come get him.”  The “him” is believed to be Kevin Hart.  She further noted on the audio that she did not know what happened and that Hart was “not coherent at all.”  The woman also stated that that the accident occurred outside of Hart’s gated community.  Additionally, she revealed that Hart injured something on his back.

An eyewitness at the scene also called 911, providing that Hart was “stuck” and looked like he was in a significant amount of pain.

At the time of the accident, both Hart and another passenger were awake. The eyewitness further noted that one of the passengers was stuck in the vehicle and that the driver was able to escape. From the eyewitness’ description, the top of Hart’s vehicle was crushed. It is unclear whether the passenger was Hart or a third female passenger.

According to the police, Hart was riding as a passenger in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda in Calabasas, California when the driver, a male, lost control of the car for unknown reasons.  As a result, the vehicle plummeted into a ditch, which caused the windshield to shatter and the roof to cave in.  Photos of the accident reveal that the crash caused the top of Hart’s vehicle to be sheared off.

The California Highway Patrol, Black indicates that the driver "immediately lost control" when he drove onto a highway before the car "left the road and rolled over down the embankment."

The female passenger in the vehicle, the driver’s fiancée, did not sustain any serious injuries.  It is not believed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the accident.  The accident remains under investigation by the local police.

Hart sustained multiple fractures to his spine and required emergency surgery.  He is expected to fully recover from his injuries.  According to Hart’s wife, “he’s gonna be just fine.”
